CEU on NRDCA Guidelines

The NRDCA has enhanced the “Engineered Roof Deck Systems” program by modifying the current program to include HSW and SD information. Based on these enhancments the program is now AIA/CES approved for 1 Learning Unit, HSW and SD. The NRDCA program titled “Engineered Roof Deck Systems” provides information on three currently available composite roof deck systems that include mineral board-steel deck systems, light weight insulating concrete systems, and cementitious wood fiber systems. Repair information is also provided for poured gypsum roof deck systems.

This PowerPoint slide program presented by a NRDCA member runs for 1 hour and the leaning objectives to be received from this program are:

  • Understand how three types of roof decks provide structural properties to resist downward and wind uplift loads meeting current code requirements.
  • Understand the installation procedures and attributes of roof deck systems and how they improve in place insulation, fire protection, and acoustical performance.
  • Understand the proper repair of poured gypsum roof decks installed in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s to allow continued use of these systems without removal and disposal costs.
  • Understand the LEED values, code requirements, and sustainable attributes of the roof decks.

Should you desire to have this presentation given at a regularly scheduled meeting or a box lunch program, please contact any member or the NRDCA office to work out presentation details.
